What we will do in the Texas Senate

Issues In Focus

Protecting School Choice & Parental Rights

The push for school choice and parental rights is met with resistance from lobbyists and ISD trustees. Many parents feel distracted by the focus on controversial curricula and gender discussions in our schools.

It’s concerning that children are exposed to inappropriate content in the classroom. This shift in focus often masks the real issue of rising property taxes.

I believe in restoring trust in our education system. It’s essential for educators to support one another in maintaining high standards and ensuring that our schools serve the best interests of students. Parents deserve peace of mind knowing their children are receiving a quality education. It’s important that we address these concerns within the system to foster an environment of integrity.

End property taxes: Protect homeownership

Homeowners shouldn’t feel like they’re “renting” their own homes from the government and school boards. Property taxes have become an unsustainable burden, increasing year after year.

This system is a reflection of poor governance—reactive decisions that fail to consider long-term solutions. It’s time to rethink this approach. Constantly taxing property conflicts with the principles our Constitution was built upon. Private property ownership was a revolutionary idea, and we must preserve its integrity.

Taxes should be focused on commerce—on the goods and services sold within a healthy, proactive economy.

Ending Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying

Taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund lobbying efforts. Right now, there are nine lobbyists for every elected official in Texas, working to influence policies that don’t always align with your interests. Last session, we made progress by eliminating the Chapter 313 corporate welfare program, only to see it reintroduced under a new name—Chapter 403.

This kind of backroom dealing is unacceptable. I’m determined to put an end to taxpayer-funded lobbying and hold those responsible accountable. It’s time for your voice to be the loudest one heard in our government, not the lobbyists’. You deserve transparency and a government that works for you, not for special interests.

Stopping The Border Crisis

According to former ICE Director Tom Homan, over half of Texas’s population has crossed the Rio Grande in the past nine years. This crisis is out of control.

Every day, 8,000 to 12,000 individuals cross illegally into Texas, threatening our safety and security. I’ve had enough, and I won’t stand by while our state is invaded. Together, we will put an end to this.

Dangerous drugs, human trafficking, and illegal colonies that compromise our communities will be dismantled. We will restore safety on our roads and in our neighborhoods, protecting our children, workers, and loved ones.

Election Integrity

Florida recently passed the strongest election integrity laws in the nation, nearly eliminating the widespread fraud that allowed a Democrat takeover. Even Dade County turned red!

Texas can and will do better. We will set the highest global standard for election integrity, with the Secretary of State serving as trustee and voters gaining immediate access to their cast ballots.Elections belong to the people. I’m committed to ensuring that we take back control of our elections, so we can restore faith in the process.

Cut The Waste & Grow Our Economy

The Texas 88th Legislature passed the largest budget in state history, with the highest percentage increase ever.

Why, after over-collecting $33 billion during the 86th and 87th sessions, couldn’t they eliminate property taxes? Instead, they increased the budget. Now there’s another $22 billion in excess revenue waiting to be collected.

Is this responsible governance? I don’t believe so. Year after year, they collect surplus funds, expand the budget, and continue to raise taxes. This approach is unsustainable, and I’m committed to changing it.

Perpetual Audit for Voter Transparency

It’s your money they’re spending, and I believe you deserve to see where every dollar goes—anytime you want. I’m committed to providing full transparency, with spending available for review on-demand and regular audits comparing expenditures to the approved budget.

This level of openness will shine a light on government spending and give you a clear view of how your tax dollars are being used. If more people had access to this information, I believe they’d be just as passionate as I am, working alongside organizations like BIZPAC to push for fiscal responsibility. Together, we can ensure your money is being spent wisely and efficiently.
